BNP leader Noman detained

Police have detained BNP vice chairman Abdullah Al Noman from near the party’s Gazipur City polls mayoral candidate Hasnuddin Sarkar’s residence on Sunday afternoon.

Confirming the news, officer-in-charge of Tongi Police Station Kamal Hossain said that 10 to 12 BNP leaders including Abdullah Al Noman have been detained. Details will be informed later.

Nurul Azim Hiru, personal secretary to BNP leader Abdullah Al Noman said that law enforcers picked Noman and some other their party leaders and activists up while they came out of the BNP mayoral candidate’s Tongi residence after holding a press conference protesting the High Court’s stay order on the May-15 election.
