2,813 cases lodged for traffic rule violations

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a daylong drive on Saturday filed 2,813 cases on charges of traffic rule violation, reports BSS.

Traffic division in their simultaneous drives on the city streets also realised over Taka 14, 62,110 as fine, said an official release.

As many as 294 cases were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 104 other cases for using hydraulic horn, nine for using hotter and beckon light and 10 others for using tinted glass.

Some 87 cases, including 41 video cases, were lodged against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.

It also dumped 21 vehicles and wrecked 575 others.

Besides, 740 cases were lodged against motorcycles and 41 others were seized for the traffic rule violations.
