2511 cases lodged for traffic rule violations

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a daylong drive on Sunday filed 2,511 cases on charges of traffic rule violation, reports BSS.

Traffic division in their simultaneous drives on the city streets also realised over Taka 10,17030 as fine, said an official release.

As many as 230 cases were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 76 other cases for using hydraulic horn, five for using hotter and beckon light and 19 others for using tinted glass.

Some 65 cases, including 35 video cases, were lodged against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.

It also dumped 27vehicles and wrecked 332 others.

Besides, 564 cases were lodged against motorcycles and 25 others were seized for the traffic rule violations.
