A 19-member delegation of ruling Awami League led by General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Sunday left here for New Delhi on a three-day visit at the invitation of Indian ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
A flight carrying the delegation left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here at 10am and it landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi at 1pm local time, reports BSS.
AL delegation comprises presidium member Pijush Kanti Bhattacharya, joint general secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, publicity and publications secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud, organizing secretaries Ahmad Hossain, Advocate Md Misbah Uddin Siraj, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, AKM Enamul Haque Shamim and Barrister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Nowfel, office secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, international affairs secretary Dr Shammi Ahmed, liberation war affairs secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, science and technology affairs secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur, health and population affairs secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana, relief and social welfare secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, deputy office and publications secretary Aminul Islam Amin and central working committee member Md Golam Kabir Rabbani Chinu.
The delegation will attend a dinar at Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi tonight while they will meet Indian Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Monday morning and witness parliament session. Later, they will attend a luncheon of BJP leader MJ Akbar.
The delegation will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday afternoon. Later, they will join bilateral discussion with BJP. Besides, the delegation will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandi Memorial.
The delegation will return home on April 24.
