Three residential students of Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall who were handed over to their guardians on Thursday night for allegedly spreading falsehood and rumors in social media, returned to the dormitory on Friday.
The three girls had returned to the dorm with their parents after giving deponent that "they would not spread falsehood again. Their parents also gave written statement to take all their responsibilities," the hall Provost Professor Dr Sabita Rezwana Rahman told BSS here on Saturday.
She said that the three girls of Sufia Kamal Hall which accommodates around 2000 female students, were handed over to their families for counseling, not thrown out from the hall.
"Their seats allocations have not been cancelled and we do not want to take any action against them," Professor Sabita added.
The hall authorities held a general meeting at the hall with over 500 resident students on on Satuday night to discuss overall situation of the dormitory, reports BSS.
"The students participated the meeting spontaneously. No student lives in the dormitory under any threat or insecurity," Prof Sabita told the national news agency.
On late Thursday night, some students from the female hall were handed over to their guardians on allegations that they spread rumours using fake accounts on Facebook that Iffat Jahan Isha, hall president of Bangladesh Chhatra League, allegedly assaulted students inside her room around 12:30am on April 10 for joining quota reform movement.
