As expected Bangladesh Cricket Board in a stern action have decided to cut number of central contracts to ten, from 16 in BCB board meeting on Wednesday.
Sixteen players for their performances were given central contract in 2017 but some dismal performance in 2018 saw BCB decided to deal with strong hand, according to a news agency.
Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Mosaddek Hossain and Kamrul Islam Rabbi, who got contracts last year, have all been excluded from this year's list.
Board president Nazmul Hassan, who made the announcement after the year's first board meeting, said that the salaries will be the same as last year but the board will specify who falls under what grade later on, as well as add three more rookies to the list.
