Filling station owners go on strike in Sylhet

‘More than 150 petrol pumps and CNG filling stations in the entire Sylhet division have stopped services from Tuesday morning’ said, Bangladesh CNG Filling Station Owners Association’s Sylhet chapter President Md. Jubair Ahmed.The strike has been enforced in protest against the attack on and looting of a CNG re-fuelling station at South Surma, in Sylhet.Jubair Ahmed said, ‘Several youths attacked on the South Surma CNG station and looted money on Monday afternoon’.He added that ‘Police refused to file a case in this connection as Raod Transport Lobours Union President Selim Ahmed Folik was accused’.As Police did not register case in the matter against Falik we had to go on strike and it will continue until the attackers are arrested, he said.
