The 29th national council of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), a student wing of ruling Awami League, will be held on May 11 and 12.
Besides, Dhaka Metro South, North and Dhaka University councils will be held on April 24, 26 and 29 respectively.
Saifur Rahman Sohag, president of BCL on Thursday confirmed the dates at a press conference held at the BCL’s central office at Dhaka’s Bangabandhu Avenue.
Earlier on March 8, the 29th central council of BCL, which was scheduled to be held on March 31, had been postponed.
On January 9, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina instructed the BCL president and general secretary to hold the council on March 31.
The last council was held on July 25-26, 2015, four years after the previous one, keeping Saifur Rahman Sohag and Jakir Hossain as the president and the general secretary respectively.
