Sadharan Bima Corporation on Sunday handed over US 0.7 million dollars to Sena Kalyan Insurance Company Ltd as part of the insurance money claimed by US-Bangla Airlines for its plane crash incident in Nepal.
Chairman of Sadharan Bima Corporation Prof Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam handed over the insurance cheque to Chief Executive Officer of Sena Kalyan Insurance Company Brig Gen (retd) Md Shafique Shamim at Sadharan Bima Bhaban in the city, a press release said.
Earlier on March 22, the insurance company handed over US$ 4.172 million to US Bangla authorities. US Bangla Airlines claimed US$ 7 million from Sena Kalyan Insurance Company which is reinsured with Sadharan Bima. The rest of the insurance money will be handed over within one week, the release said.
Twenty-Seven Bangladeshi passengers were killed at the plane crash in Trivuban International Airport in Kathmandu on March 12, leaving at least 50 people dead among 71 passengers, including 22 Nepalese and one Chinese nationals.
