At least three workers were severely burnt after a fire broke out at a garment factory at East Kazipara of Kafrul in the capital’s Mirpur in the wee hours of Saturday.
The victims Md Mainuddin, Alamin, and Md Masum, suffered 83 percent, 75 percent and 80 percent burn injuries respectively in the fire.
The injured are being treated at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately but it is believed that the fire originated from electric short circuit.
Quoting Fire Service and Civil Defence, Bachchu Mia, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, said being informed, six firefighters units rushed to the spot at about 3:15am and doused the fire around 4:35am after frantic efforts.
