Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations of 2018 will begin across the country on April 2 with 13,11,457 examinees taking part from 8,943 educational institutions.
Of the total examinees, 6,92,730 are males and 6,18,728 females.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid revealed this information at a press conference held at the education ministry on Wednesday.
Only the in-charge officer at respective centres will be allowed to enter the examination centres with mobile phones, where they will be given the set choice instruction via a text message, said the minister.
All the previous rules, including attendance of the examinees at examination halls at least 30 minutes before the exam, will continue, he added.
Earlier on March 25, the ministry’s officials decided to send each set of question papers to the test centres, with the set to be used in the exam being decided only 25 minutes before the start time.
