A student of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) was killed and three others sustained burn injuries in a blast at a building at Masterbari in Bhaluka of Mymensingh in the wee hours of Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Touhid, a final year student of KUET and an intern of Masterbari Square Industries, hailing from Shahajanpur upazila of Bogra.
The injured students Hafiz, 23, of Naogaon, Dipto, 23, of Magura and Shahin, 23, of Sirajganj were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
According to a source, an explosion inside the six-storey building rocked the Masterbari area around 1:30am. On information, police rushed in and found a room of the third floor of the building badly damaged.
