A Saidpur-bound flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Dhaka landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport 30 minutes flying after taking off as the pilot suspected some technical glitch in Dash 8-Q400 model aircraft."The Flight BG 493 took off Shahjalal International Airport for Saidpur at 12.10 pm but after nearly 30 minutes it had to return due to technical problem and landed here safely," General Manager (Public Relations) Shakil Meraj told BSS. All the 53 passengers and 4 crew members were reportedly safe after the technical glitch. "The pilot didn't call any emergency. It's just a technical glitch and pilot didn't want to take any sort of risk, that's why he returned back here," Meraj said. After landing at HSIA, he said Biman's Engineers check the aircraft and now they are preparing for a test flight of the aircraft. "We are expecting the aircraft will be back to service shortly after the test flight," the Biman's spokesperson added. The incident took place just after one week of tragic plane crash of US-Bangla's same model Dash 8-Q400 aircraft at Kathmandu Trivuban International airport, leaving at least 49 dead.
