Singapore will name an orchid in its botanical garden, a world heritage site, after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her honour during the premier's Singapore visit beginning on Sunday.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali disclosed this at a press briefing at the ministry here on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister is going to visit Singapore at the invitation of her Singapore counterpart Lee Hsien Loong, reports BSS.
During her visit, six deals and Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) are likely to be inked between the two countries for further enhancing cooperation in different sectors.
The deals include an MoU on investment collaboration between the International Enterprise Singapore and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, MoU on public private partnership, confidential memorandum of understanding to expand the air service agreement, MoU on digital leadership, innovation and digital government transformation, MoU between FBCCI and Singapore Manufacturing Federation to strengthen business relations and MoU between MCCI and Singapore Manufacturing Federation.
Bangladesh Prime Minister will also hold a bilateral meeting with her Singapore counterpart during the visit when the entire gamut of bilateral interest is expected to be discussed for further enhancing cooperation in various important sectors.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid, senior government officials will accompany her during the tour. A high-level business delegation will also accompany the premier.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will return home on March 14.
