Mosquito menace has reached an intolerable level in the capital city due to lack of available mosquito control activities of the Dhaka South City Corporation and Dhaka North City Corporation.
Residents in the city have been suffering severe mosquito menace for last 10-12 days.
It has become extremely difficult to carry on with any sort of work anywhere in the residences, hospitals, clinics, hotels, business establishments as menace of mosquito increasing day by day.
Sejuaty Khanam, A resident of Azimpura area in city said that wherever i go, mosquitoes attack us. No measures is able to prvent them from attack.
Many city dwellers fear a comeback of chikungunya and dengue due to large-scale breeding of mosquitoes in the city.
Every night people adopt various means to get rid of mosquito but all their efforts prove in vain.
“We use spray, mosquito coils and nets but cannot save ourselves. I’m worried about the health of our family memebrs,” said Minara Begum a resident of Jatrabari.
Taking advantage of the discomfort of the city dwellers dishonest traders have been selling adulterated mosquito coils to make quick money easily, sources alleged.
Mosquito menace put the city dwellers in endless suffering despite of takeing various measures by city authorities to combat mosquito.
