Bangladesh on Monday announced a 16-memebr squad for ‘Nidahas Trophy 2018’, T20I tri-series against India and Sri Lanka, which is scheduled to be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Shakib Al Hasan, who missed out on the last series against Sri Lanka, might be available for only “one or two matches” as he continues to recover from a finger injury, reports ESPNcricinfo.
There were several changes to the squad that was beaten by Sri Lanka in February, notably the returns of fast bowler Taskin Ahmed and off-spinner Mehidy Hasan.
Mohammad Saifuddin, Mahedi Hasan, Zakir Hasan, Afif Hossain, who were the part of the recently concluded two-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, have been dropped from the squad of Nidahas Trophy.
Bangladesh squad Shakib Al Hasan (capt), Mahmudullah, Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Sabbir Rahman, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Abu Hider, Abu Jayed, Ariful Haque, Nazmul Islam, Nurul Hasan, Mehidy Hasan.
Nidahas Trophy 2018 is scheduled to begin from 6 March, involving hosts Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India in Sri Lanka. Bangladesh will play their first match against another visiting side of the tournament India on 8 March. Participating teams will play two matches against each other. The tournament will come to an end with the final match on 18 March.
