The rail communications between Sylhet and the rest of the country remained suspended since Friday morning following derailment of 11 bogies of a train in Santgaon station of Srimangal upazila in Moulvibazar district early Friday.
Mujibur Rahman, assistant engineer of Sylhet railway divisional office, said that the bogies of ‘Upaban Express’ veered off the tracks around 1 am, disrupting train movement, UNB reported.
Two relief trains from Kulaura and Akhaura came to the spot and started to salvage the train bogies around 6am.
