Bangladesh has moved up two notches in the world Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), said the Berlin-based Transparency International (TI) in a report published today.
In a list of 180 countries, Bangladesh is ranked 143rd while 17th from below, which is 2 steps higher than in 2016.
Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), local branch of the TI, unveiled the report during a press conference held at its Dhanmondi office in the capital on Thursday morning.
In the latest ranking New Zealand and Denmark were placed the highest, with scores of 89 and 88, respectively. On the other hand Syria, South Sudan and Somalia were ranked lowest with scores of 14, 12 and 9, respectively.
