Five people have been sentenced to death in a case filed for the murder of one Masud Rana in Chandpur.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Mamunur Rashid passed the order around 12pm on Tuesday.
The convicts are Md. Yeasin Bepari, 24, Md Abdul Khalek Molla, 32, Md Faruk alias Nobi, 25, Md Selim Majhi, 22 and Md Ali Munshi, 28.
Nobi and Munshi were present at the court during the announcement of verdict and remaining others are on run.
On October 15, 2008, Masud was murdered in the district’s Matlab Uttar Upazila.
