Senior leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) are going to hold an emergency meeting on Saturday evening at the party’s chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office in the capital.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will preside over the meeting scheduled to take place at 6pm.
According to party source, BNP’s standing committee members, its vice chairmen and advisors of Khaleda Zia will take part in the first meeting of the party following the Khaleda’s verdict.
For the first time, they will sit together to discuss the party’s next course of action after the party’s sixth national council.
It is mentionable that, Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman of the Special Court-5 gave 5 years jail to Khaleda and 10 years for her son Tarique Rahman and four others in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on Thursday.
