A total of 368 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have been sued over Thursday’s clash with police in the capital following a court verdict that sentenced five years jail to the party chairperson Khaleda Zia in graft case.

Two cases were filed against them with Shahbagh Police Station and three with Ramna Police Station over the arson attack, mayhem and obstruction of police duty.

In this connection, Mynul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station, said: “Three cases have been filed against 160 BNP men. Of them, 18 people have been sent to the court after showing them arrested.”

Zafar Ali Biswas, officer-in-charge of Shahbagh Police Station, said: “A case was filed against 100 BNP men and another against 108 people. But he didn’t disclose any information about their detention.”
