The son of lawmaker advocate Mustofa Lutfullah of Satkhira-1 constituency committed suicide at the MP hostel in the capital on Saturday night.
Anik Aziz, 32, hanged himself from a ceiling fan in room 504 of 5 no Bhaban.
The reason behind the suicide could not be known yet, said Anik’s uncle Sharifullah Kaiser Sumon.
According to the source, lawmaker Lutfullah reached the NAM flat from Satkhira around 6am where Anik stayed. Finding no response from Anik, his room was unlocked with the spare key and found him hanging from ceiling fan.
In this connection Gopal Gonesh Biswas, officer-in-charge of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station said: “Police rushed to the spot after being informed the matter. The body of the deceased was taken Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.”
