Police on Saturday morning recovered four bullet-hit bodies of suspected robbers from separate spots in Jessore district.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Confirming the news, duty officer of Jessore Kotwali model police station SI Mokhlesur Rahman said that acting on tip-off, several police team conducted drives in Nongorpur area of Jessore-Magura highway. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, robbers fled the scene.
Later, police recovered two bullet-hit bodies of robbers with two one-shooter-gun, two rounds of bullets, five lethal weapons, ropes and other ammunitions from the spot, he added.
On the other hand, police recovered two bodies of robbers from Jhikargacha upazila along with fire arms and ammunitions.
ASI Rafikul Islam, duty officer of Jhikargacha police station said that on information about a gunfight between two groups of robbers, a team of police rushed to the spot and recovered two bodies of robbers with a foreign made pistol, two rounds of bullets and lethal weapons.
It is assumed that two robbers groups locked into the clash centering the share of their looted goods, he added.
The bodies of deceased were sent to Jessore 250 bed General Hospital morgue for post mortem.
