Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu today said cancellation of the license of two private television channels is now under consideration.
"The government is yet to take a final decision on cancellation of two private television channels -Diganta and Islami Television," he said while responding to a supplementary query raised by opposition bench lawmaker Fakhrul Imam at the Jatiya Sangsad here, according to a news agency.
The broadcasting of two private tv channel is temporarily shut down, said the minister, adding that the government issued show cause notice to the authority of the two tv channels but the reply of the show cause notice was not satisfactory at all.
On May 6,2013, the government halted the broadcast of private channels Diganta TV and Islamic TV on allegations of airing provocative programmes to whip up public sentiment.
