The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has taken three-dimensional measures for ensuring foolproof security in the two phases of the 53rd Biswa Ijtema, the second largest gatherings of the Muslim community, to be held from January 12-14 and January 19-21, on the bank of River Turag, at Tongi on the outskirts of the capital city, reports BSS.
“We have taken three dimensional security measures in the river, air and land to make the security arrangements foolproof to hold the Biswa Ijtema peacefully,” Director General (DG) of RAB Benazir Ahmed told the media after visiting overall security arrangement of the Ijtema ground at Tongi.

In replying to a query about any security threat ahead of the Ijtema, the RAB chief said, “There are no threats. But, the security arrangements have been taken considering all the aspects.”
Asked about any impact on the Ijtema of the agitation centering arrival of Maulana Saad, he said, “It has been trying to settle the issue from the highest level of the government. I have so far come to know Maulana Saad will not attend the Ijtema.”
