Southpaw batsman Mominul Haque reached double ton against Prime Bank South Zone during the second day’s play of Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) at the BKSP ground no 4 in Savar, reports BSS.
Resuming the second day with his overnight score at 169, Momunul completed his double hundred from 255 balls. He finally scored 258 runs off 344 balls before he was trapped leg before wicket by Abdur Razzak delivery.
Islami Bank team is in a strong position with the score at 546 for all in their first innings. On a flat pitch, the diminutive batsman took advantage with some finely timed shots as his innings studded with 23 boundaries and three over boundaries.
Earlier, Zakir Hossain, who continued from his 47 not out on the first day, also scored a century on the second day. He was eventually removed by Saqlain Sajib after a polish 169-ball 119, an innings that contained six boundaries and four over boundaries.
