Cold wave: Death toll rises to 6 in Kurigram

Six people have died so far in Kurigram due to the cold wave that has been sweeping over the country.

The latest victim a newborn died due to cold-related complication at Kurigram Adhunik Sadar Hospital on Sunday afternoon.

Today’s lowest temperature was recorded 3.2 degrees Celsius in Kurigram, according to the Rajarhat met office.

Residents of the district have been forced to endure untold suffering due to the persistent cold weather.

With children and the elderly disproportionately affected, incidence of cold-related diseases have reportedly been rapidly increasing.

The cold wave limited their outdoor activities to only basic necessities.
