7 Bangladeshis killed in road accident in Saudi Arabia

Seven cleaners of East Asian nationality were killed and 15 others injured when the pick-up they were traveling in collided with a private car driven by a Saudi citizen on the road between the governorates of Samtah and Al-Hareth, south of Jizan Province in Saudi Arabia on Saturday morning (Saudi local time), reports Riyadh Daily.

Our Saudi Correspondent said: eight people including seven Bangladeshis were killed on the spot when a Saudi’s army car hit a vehicle of Al Fahad Company carrying them.

Of them, six people are identified as Dulal of Sirajganj, Saifur Islam of Tangail, Matiur Rahman of Narayanganj, Jasim of Amir Houssain, Edon and Amir Houssain of Narsigndi.

Identities of others could not be known immediately.

The official spokesman of the Red Crescent in Jizan, Beishi Al-Sarkhi, said that the operations room received a call reporting the collision Saturday morning.

He added that six emergency teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. When the teams arrived, 22 people were found at the accident site, including the seven who were killed on the spot. The injured were rushed to the nearest hospital where six are in critical condition, three are stable, and three have minor injuries.

The incident is considered the most serious one in the province in recent times.
