The government on Wednesday reshuffled the portfolios of eight ministers, state ministers.
The decision to reshuffle in different ministries came a day after the sworn in of three minsters and one state minster.
Confirming the news, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam said to reporters that Mustafa Jabbar, President of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services has been given the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology while AKM Shahjahan Kamal, Lakshmipur-3 constituency MP has been made minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism ministry replacing Rashed Khan Menon.
And Menon was given the charge of the Ministry of Social Welfare.
Narayon was serving as the state minister for the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has been promoted to the post of minister at his ministry.
Environment and Forest minister Anwar Hossain Manju has got the responsibility of water resources ministry replacing Anisul Islam Mahmud.
Tarana Halim, state minister for Information and Communication Technology has been transferred to ministry of information.
One of new faces, Kazi Keramat Ali, MP of Rajbari-1 constituency, was made state minister at the Ministry of Madrassah and Technology Education.
Nuruzzaman Ahmed has been given the charge of state minister for Social Welfare Ministry.
President Md Abdul Hamid administered the oath at Bangabhaban at 6:30pm on Tuesday while Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam run the prograamme.
Cabinet division issued an office order on the recruitment of three minsters and one state minster.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina was also present at the oath taking ceremony.
This third major change in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s cabinet after she re-assumed office in 2014 has taken place on the final year of her government ahead of the parliamentary election.
