The authorities of University of Development Alternative (UODA) have organized a fair for admission seekers of honors and masters programmes in its different disciplines.
The admission fair started on Tuesday and it will continue until December 31 this year.
The university held a press conference marking the fair on its campus at Dhanmondi in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Founder and President of the university Professor Mujib Khan briefed journalists at the press conference.
He said, “The UODA does not have any commercial tendency with the education from the beginning though many private universities are doing business in the name of education.”
“We do run our institution on the basis of non-profit policy as we think education is not a commercial matter, it is a right for every citizen of the country,” he said.
Professor Mujib Khan announced to find out brilliant and poor students to provide educational service for them.
He added: “The UODA has arranged this admission fair only to provide a scope to poor, underprivileged and bright students so that they can get higher education.”
The educationalist also assured that the university will set educational cost for underprivileged students after discussing with their parents and their ability.
“UODA authorities will consider economical condition of students' families, educational background to fix the educational costs so that every bright student can get higher education,” he said.
He also promised to provide scope of education and residential facilities without any cost for those who are invincible meritorious but poor.
UODA Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Ahmedullah Mia, Registrar Professor Dr Iffat Chowdhury and other high officials were present at the press conference.
The admission fair will remain open from 9.00am to 5.00pm at UODA Registrar Office (80, Satmasjid Road, Dhanmondi) and UODA CSE Department (3/C Satmasjid Road, Dhanmondi).
The admission fair will also remain open on every holiday.
