A Dhaka court sent Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to jail hours after he made secretary general of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).On Wednesday noon, he surrendered before the lower court in line with the Supreme Court order in two arson cases filed with Paltan police station and sought bails.Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Golam Nabi denied him bail and sent him to prison.The Supreme Court extended Fakhrul’s bail for 15 more days in these two cases on February 29.He was asked to surrender before a lower court within the time frame.
