The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday set January 2 for passing its order on the service rules and conduct for the lower court judges, reports BSS.
The apex court set the date as one member of the five judges' bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah, was absent Wednesday.
"One of our colleague judges is not here today. This matter will have to be heard in full-bench. Let the matter to be adjourned to January 2," the Appellate Division said.
Earlier on December 10, the Supreme Court granted the state three days more time for finalising and publishing gazette on service rules and conduct for lower court judges.
The government issued the 24-page gazette the very next day, ending a long standing speculation on the matter.
