The government has nominated noted poet Nirmalendu Goon for Swadhinata Padak (Independence Award) 2016 in recognition of his contribution to the field of literature. Prime minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to hand over the awards to the individuals at Osmani Memorial Auditorium on March 24.Cabinet secretary Shafiul Alam confirmed the matter.
