Fourteen meritorious students of Shamsunnahar Hall of Dhaka University (DU) on Monday have received the ‘Fatema Iqbal Trust Fund Scholarship’ for their excellent academic performances.
The recipients of the scholarships are- Umma Hani, Sharmin Akhter, Tasnuva Kumkum Brinta, sumaiya of Arts Faculty, Afrin Siddiqua, Nahid Nigar Sultana, Sumaiya Tahir of Social Science Faculty, Razia Sultana, Jesmin Akhter, Tanjima Akhter of Business Studies Faculty, Nusrat Tamanna Mim of Science Faculty, Sirajam Munira of Biology Faculty, Susmita Das of Pharmacy Faculty and Asma katun of Social Welfare and Research Institute, said a DU press release today.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman distributed the scholarships among the students as chief guest at the Shamsunnahar Hall auditorium in the university.
Treasurer of the university and president of Fatema Iqbal Trust Fund Professor Kamal Uddin presided over the ceremony while hall provost and member secretary of the Fatema Iqbal Trust Fund Professor Supriya Saha addressed the programme.
Former residential teacher Selima Chowdhury recalled the memory of Fatema Iqbal while residential teacher Syeda Mamataj Shirin gave the welcome speech.
Part-time residential teacher Lukna Easmin gave the vote of thanks. Different hall provost, director, chairman and students of the university were present at the function.
