Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said her government has planned to set up medical college in every district to ensure ‘quality treatment’ for the people side by side with creating new doctors.The Prime Minister said this while addressing as the chief guest at the 43rd Annual National Conference of the Ophthalmological Society of Bangladesh (OSB) at Krishibid Institution on Wednesday morning.While talking about establishment of new medical universities in Chittagong and Rajshahi, the Premier said many people think that existing Chittagong and Rajshahi Medical Colleges are going to be turned into universities.Sheikh Hasina said the government medical colleges exist in different divisions and districts would remain affiliated with those medical universities.Health Minister Mohammad Nasim, State Minister for Health Zahid Malek Swapan, former PM`s adviser Professor Dr Modasser Ali and OSB President Professor Dr Sharfuddin Ahmed spoke at the function.Director General of the Directorate of Health Professor Dr Deen Mohammad Nurul Haque delivered the welcome address at the function.
