Businessman Aniruddha Roy, who returned his Gulshan residence on early Thursday after 79 days of his reported abduction, on Sunday said in a letter he was a victim of business rivalry.
The businessman pledged to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to intervene and take necessary steps to ensure his justice and security.
He alleged that in his absence, his partner had tried to harm his business ventures in many ways, including depositing Tk 5 crore to his own bank account instead of the company’s account, and removing important documents from his office room, among others.
Roy is the managing director of RMM Leathers. He also served as an ‘honorary consul’ for Belarus.
Aniruddha Roy was reportedly dragged on a microbus by three people, soon after he came out of a private bank in Gulshan 1 on August 27 at about 4:15pm.
Later, Kallol Hajra, a nephew of the businessman Amiruddha, had filed a general diary with Gulshan police station on abduction of his uncle.
