Nur Hossain, the prime accused of Narayanganj seven-murder has filed two petitions with the High Court seeking the court’s detectives to scrap the two murder cases filed against him.Two separate petitions were filed with the High Court on Sunday afternoon.Nur’s lawyer Lutfar Rahman Akanda confirmed the matter to the journalists.He said, ‘No witnesses found to testify that Nur Hossain was present at the scene where seven-murder took place. Accused RAB officials also gave confessional statements that they committed the murder according to high officials.’The hearing of the petition might be held next week, said Lutfar.On April 27, 2014, Narayanganj City Corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam and six others were abducted.Later, their bodies were recovered from Shitalaykha River on April 30.On June 15, 2014, the West Bengal police arrested Nur with some of his accomplices from Kolkata. He had been in Indian custody since then.He was handed over to BGB 26 Battalion Deputy Commander Maj Liakat Ali on November 12 last year. Later, Nur Hossain was shown arrested in 11 cases including the seven-murder case.
