Matin appointed new BGCCI executive director

The country’s largest bilateral chamber, Bangladesh German Chamber of Commerce and Industry appointed its new Executive Director Mohammed Abdul Matin.

This veteran development and trade promotion expert has 42 years of experience working for national and international organizations in Bangladesh, said a press release on Thursday.

Among this he has spent 9 years as the Executive Director of Foreign Investor’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in Bangladesh.

Mohammed Abdul Matin started his career as a banker in 1968. Since then he has worked for United Nations Children’s Fund, Bangladesh Population & Health Consortium, Plan International, ICDDR,B, NMIDP, Danish Advisory Group and Foreign Investor’s Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).

He has extensive experience in program, administration and macro-management of development projects in public sectors. He has also collaborated with various bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors such as World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UNICEF, UNCRD, FAO, UNFPA, UNDP, USAID, DANIDA & Plan International etc.

Matin is looking forward to take BGCCI to further heights and make it a more vibrant bilateral business chamber in terms of activities in trade facilitation and trade promotion between Bangladesh and Germany.  BGCCI Presidency is currently under the leadership Tawfiq Ali, Chief Representative of Commerzbank AG Dhaka, Bangladesh.
