The cabinet has approved a proposal for a list of government holidays for the year 2018 with a total of 22 public holidays.
The approval came at a cabinet meeting at the Prime Minister Office with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair on Monday.
After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam briefed reporters at the secretariat.
According to the approved list, there will be 22 public holidays - including eight with executive order and four optional holidays.
