Four pirates were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Coast Guard.
The incident took place at Shukpara area of Sharankhola range at East Sundarbans in Bagerhat district on Thursday morning.The deceased are ringleader Monirul Islam, deputy chief Enamul, Giaus and Hasan.A total of 18 firearms and 400 rounds of bullets have been recovered from the spot.Commander of RAB-8 Faridul Alam and Commander of Coastguard west zone Mehedi Masud confirmed the matter to the journalist’s separately.
