The week long 'Income Tax Fair-2017' will begin on November 1 at Boyra Income Tax Building premises in the city with an objective to motive people to pay taxes.
Lawmaker of Khulna-2 constituency Mizanur Rahman Mizan will inaugurate the fair while commissioner of Khulna Income Tax Zone Md Iqbal Hossain will preside it.
Commissioner of Mongla Custom House Margub Ahmed, Commissioner of Income Tax Appeal Zone Prashanta Kumar Roy, Khulna Deputy Commissioner Amin-ul-Ahsan, President of Khulna Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Kazi Aminul Haque and President of Income Tax Lawyear Association Advocate Lutfar Rahman will attend as special guests.
Commissioner of Khulna Income Tax Zone Md Iqbal Hossain said at a press conference on Sunday that the 'Fair' will also held at all 10 zila and 8 upazila of Khulna division.
At the fair, one stop service center will serve the taxpayers to submit their tax returns for 2016-17 and pay taxes. Booths in the fair will help tax payers register for electronically generated TINs or re-register for-e-TINs to replace their old TINs.
Income Tax week will also held from November 24 to November 30, he said adding that the last day of return submit will end on November 30.
He said last year, Khulna was the top position across the country for E-TIN registration as well as returns submission.
