Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Wednesday met Myanmar's de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi for repatriation of the Rohingyas, who were forcibly ousted from their homes in the Rakhine state and pushed into Bangladesh.
Md. Sharif Mahmud, public relations officer of home ministry, confirmed the matter to the Jagonews24.com.
During the meeting, Suu Kyi said her government has started working on the repatriation process of the Rohingya who have entered Bangladesh.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal invited Suu Kyi to Bangladesh on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
In response to the invitation, the Myanmar state counsellor said she would visit Bangladesh at a favourable time for both the counties.
Earlier, the Minister for the Office of the State Counsellor of Myanmar Kyaw Tint Swe agreed to take back over half a million of its forcibly displaced Rohingya nationals from Bangladesh during his talks with the authorities here while visiting Dhaka as a senior representative of Myanmar's leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
