BNP leader MK Anwar dies

Former minister and BNP’s standing committee member MK Anwar died of old age complications at his residence on Elephant road in the capital.

He was 84. She breathed his last at 1.20am on Tuesday.

Shamsuddin Didar, an official of BNP chairperson’s press wing, confirmed the news of death to the Jagonews24.com.

BNP’s chairperson Khaleda Zia and its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep shock at the death of MK Anwar.

Anwar retired from the government service in 1990 after discharging the duty of cabinet secretary.

He joined BNP in 1991 and was elected MP from Comilla’s Homna constituency for several times.
