A fire broke out at Bangladesh Bank headquarters in Dhaka on Monday afternoon but fire fighters doused the blaze within a few minutes, reports BSS.“The fire broke out on the 18th floor of the Bangladesh Bank's 30-storey building where our Financial Stability Department is housed . . . but it has been doused immediately,” a central bank official said. “The fire broke out at 5.50pm at the central bank. There is a fire fighters' team on duty in front of the bank. The team rushed to the spot and doused the fire immediately,” said an official of the fire brigade control room.He said the origin of the fire could not be known immediately as an investigation is underway to find out the reasons and damage of the fire.A fire also broke out at central bank headquarters on March 23 last at the 13th floor of the 30-storey building where the bank's foreign exchange policy department is housed.
