Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda on Wednesday said the Election Commission (EC) has been enjoying full freedom under the present government without any intervention.
He said this at the election dialogue with Awami League at the conference room of Nirbachon Bhaban in the city.
Huda praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her development works and claimed that the Election Commission “enjoys more freedom” compared to ECs of many countries.
CEC also said that the Awami League was behind all the success of Bangladesh.
Later A 21-member Awami League delegation, led by party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader, submitted an 11-point proposal to the EC on the next national election.
The other members of the delegation are Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Begum Matia Chowdhury, Mohammad Nasim, HT Imam, Dr Md Abdur Razzak, Lt Col (retd) Muhammad Faruq Khan, Ramesh Chandra Sen, Moshiur Rahman, Mohammad Zamir, Md Rashidul Alam, Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Dipu Moni, Jahangir Kabir Nanok, Abdur Rahman, Abdus Sobhan Golap, HN Ashiqur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud and Riazul Kabir Kawser.
