Awami League senior leaders have joined dialogue with the Election Commission (EC) to place their party’s 11-point proposal over holding the next general election in a free and fair manner.
The dialogue began at 11am on Wednesday at the conference room of Nirbachon Bhaban in the city with Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda in the chair.
AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader, Presidium Members Adv. Abdul Matin Khasru and Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak, Joint General Secretaries Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif, Dr Dipu Moni, Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanok and Abdur Rahman and senior leaders joined it.
The commission held dialogues with civil society members on July 31 and media representatives on August 16 and 17.
Later from August 24, the commission started holding talks with 40 registered political parties. So far, EC held dialogues with 35 parties.
On October 19, EC will hold talks with Jatiya Party (JP) at 11am and Liberal Democratic Party at 3 pm.
Later, it will hold dialogues with election observer on October 22, women leaders on October 23 and with election experts on October 24.
