Krishak Sramik Janata League president Bangabir Abdul Kader Siddique demanded the resignation of the chief election commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Hada as he said that BNP founder General Ziaur Rahman “restored multi-party democracy”.He came up with the comment following a meeting with election commission in Dhaka’s Agargaon on Monday.Election Commission is holding dialogues with all registered political parties to discuss about the 11th parliamentary election expected to be held in 2018.BNP took part in the dialogue with the constitutional body on Sunday when the CEC made his comment.Krishak Sramik Janata League participated in the dialogue on Monday. After the meeting, Kader Siddique told journalists, “I asked him (CEC) who suspended or killed democracy if Ziaur Rahman restored it.”“He cannot said that Ziaur Rahman restored democracy and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman killed it and that’s why I think, he should resign and his statement should be withdrawn,” he added.
