A Panchagarh court has placed three people on 18-day remand in two cases filed separately in the incident of Hindu priest killing at Deviganj upazila in Panchaghar district.Judge Marzia Khatun of Deviganj Sessions Judge Court-2 passed the order after hearing in the cases on Saturday.The accused people are: Harij Ali, of village of Kalirdanga under the Sundardegee of Deviganj upazila, Romzan Ali, of Pradhanabad of Dandapal Union of the upazila and Alamgir Hosen, of Kamatpara of the Sadar upazila.Earlier, investigation officer of the cases, also officer-in-charge (OC-investigation) of Deviganj Police station, produced the three people before the court and sought 20 days of remand for each in two cases.On Friday, Police held the three people from Kalirdanga area of Sundardighi union under Debiganj upazila in connection with the killing of abbot of Sri Sri Santo Gourio Monastery of the area.Jageshwar (55), a hindu priest, was slaughtered by some unidentified miscreants, in Karatoa bridge area under Deviganj upazila of the district last week.
