The Appealed Division of Supreme Court on Wednesday stayed the High Court order that asked the government not to deduct five marks from the total of those who will take the MBBS and BDS entrance exam for the second time.
A five-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Acting Chief Justice Wahhab Miah passed the order during the hearing of an appeal filed by the Health Ministry.
The Health Ministry on June 4 decided to cut five marks from the total score of examinees sitting for the MBBS entry test for the second time.
On August 27, lawyer Eunus Ali filed the writ with the High Court challenging the legality of the government decision.
The MBBS admission test is scheduled for October 6. For dental colleges, the admission test is scheduled for November 10.
