An uncertainty is hovering over a visit of a Bangladesh delegation to Myanmar as the final decision on the visit totally depends on the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.A delegation, headed by Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, was scheduled to visit Myanmar in the first week of October. However, the minister on Tuesday said that the final decision would be taken after discussing it with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as Rohingya crisis hit the relationship between the countries. In a reply to a query, the minister said, “It is true that Myanmar government invited us and their security advisor who came here requested us to visit the country.”“We took decision that we would visit Myanmar in the first week of October. Before that the incident (Rohingya crisis) took place,” Kamal said.“Now we will take decision after discussing the matter with Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. Then we will decide whether we will go or not,” he added.Thousands of Rohingya Muslims flee to Bangladesh since August 25 to avoid what the United Nations termed “textbook ethnic cleansing” in Rakhine State of Myanmar by the country’s army and the Buddhists.
